Officer Review

"SGTs and LTs are pretty solid for the most part. Officer safety is paramount and the new Chief seems connected to the rank and file. The opportunities available to officers here are endless. The level of crime is high and there are specialty units to fit any officer’s preference and goals. My biggest complaint is that policy is overly complex. Everything from driving, to Use of Force is written in such a way that if the outcome is bad….you can and will be written up. That said, I do not feel as though Professional Standards….nor most supervisors are on a witch hunt for officers. However, I have issues with “outcome based discipline.” Disciplining officers who generally acted appropriately but had a bad outcome….is unfortunate. But if I had to choose between working for a department that proactively sought out officers to discipline through constant random BWC reviews and live activations….and an agency who wrote ppl up when then maybe shouldn’t…..Id take the latter."
